China-Latin America and the Caribbean Young Political Leaders' Forum

  China-Latin America and the Caribbean Young Political Leaders' Forum was proposed by then Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao in his speech at the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) of the United Nations, headquartered in Santiago, capital city of Chile, in June, 2012. It is co-hosed by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and youth organizations, and government departments on youth affairs of major Latin American countries, aimed at promoting dialogue and exchange between youth leaders of China and Latin American and the Caribbean states, and laying the social foundation for the development of China-Latin America relations.

  The first China-Latin America and the Caribbean Young Political Leaders' Forum was held in Beijing in May, 2013, with the theme of “Promoting Youth Participation for a Beautiful Future”. Over 50 young government officials, political party cadres and leaders of national youth organizations from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela and Iberian American Youth Organization attended the Forum, carrying out interactions with young leaders of Chinese government departments, research institutes, media organizations and businesses.
