On 3 September 2026, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in The Bahamas Zhang Hongliang saw off students from the Bahamian International School of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Technology (ISBET) at the Embassy as they prepared to travel to Shandong, China, to participate in the Bahamian Youth Study Tour.

In his remarks, Zhang said that China and The Bahamas are both developing countries and members of the Global South. The two countries share a love for peace, a pursuit of development and a commitment to solidarity, and are true friends and good partners. He encouraged the young Bahamian students to cherish this opportunity to visit China and experience the country firsthand, gaining a true, multidimensional and comprehensive understanding of China through what they see and experience. He also encouraged them to broaden their horizons, deepen friendships through exchanges, and become “young ambassadors” of China-Bahamas friendship.
