Chinese Ambassador to Suriname Lin Ji Attended Opening Ceremony of Basic Chinese Course at Suriname Diplomatic Institute and Delivered a Speech

On April 20, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Suriname Lin Ji attended and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the Basic Chinese Course of the Suriname Diplomatic Institute.



Ambassador Lin highlighted China’s achievements and bright prospects in economic and social development, its foreign policy principles, and China–Suriname relations. He emphasized the importance of learning Chinese well for better understanding China, enhancing people-to-people connectivity between the two countries, and promoting the development of bilateral relations.



Ambassador Lin noted that 2026 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Suriname, and that bilateral ties are facing new opportunities for development. As both a tool of communication and a carrier of culture, the Chinese language is playing an increasingly prominent role. He expressed the hope that participants will gain knowledge, broaden their horizons, and deepen their understanding through their studies, and become participants, promoters, and witnesses of China–Suriname exchanges.
