Chinese Ambassador to Suriname Lin Ji Meets with New Chief of KPS Melvin Pinas

On April 17, 2026, H.E. Lin Ji, Chinese Ambassador to Suriname, met with the newly appointed Chief of the Suriname Police Force (KPS), Melvin Pinas.



Ambassador Lin congratulated Chief Pinas on assuming his new position and stated that China is willing to deepen police cooperation with Suriname. He expressed hope that the Surinamese police will actively safeguard the safety and legitimate rights and interests of overseas Chinese in Suriname, and provide a better public security and business environment for Chinese enterprises and business people in the country.



Chief Pinas noted that the cooperation between Suriname and China in police work has provided important support for strengthening the capacity of the Surinamese police and effectively combating crime. The Surinamese police are willing to work closely with the Chinese Embassy in Suriname and the local Chinese communities to create a favorable security environment for all sectors, including Chinese citizens and enterprises.
