On December 8, 2025, China’s Navy hospital ship Ark Silk Road arrived in Kingston, Jamaica. His Excellency Ambassador Wang Jinfeng, Senator the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Kamina Johnson-Smith, representing the Government of Jamaica, Leader of Opposition Mr. Mark Golding, Minister of Health and Wellness Dr. the Hon. Christopher Tufton, Mayor of Kingston Councillor Andrew Swaby were present at the dock to welcome the hospital ship.
