On 11 July 2025，Her Excellency Yan Jiarong, Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas, attended the signing ceremony and press conference of the Government Framework Agreement for the Nassau Hospital Concessional Loan Project. Representing the Chinese government, Ambassador Yan signed the Agreement with Hon. Dr. Michael Darville, Minister of Health and Wellness of The Bahamas. Prime Minister Philip Davis and members of the Cabinet attended the ceremony.

Ambassador Yan emphasized that the Project stands as another testament of the strong bilateral cooperation between China and The Bahamas. Guided by the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind, this Project represents a significant effort by both countries to implement the Global Development Initiative (GDI) and deliver on the outcomes of the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum. The project will undoubtedly improve the well-being of the Bahamian people and contribute to the country's economic development.

Prime Minister Davis and Minister Darville expressed their profound gratitude to the Chinese government, and highlighted the exceptional significance of the project as vital support from China in advancing The Bahamas' national priorities, particularly in health care improvement. They noted that this Project reaffirms The Bahamas and China have forged a strong relationship — one rooted in cooperation, development, and shared values，which will continue to benefit both nations and their peoples.
