Chinese Ambassador to Dominica Chu Maoming Visits China-Aided Livelihood Projects in Dominic

From July 10 to 11, H.E. Chu Maoming, Chinese Ambassador to Dominica, visited several communities—including Canefield, Trafalgar, Silver Lake, Castle Comfort, Castle Bruce, and Atkinson—to inspect the progress of China-aided livelihood projects, including home repairs, modern washrooms interventions, and new drainage systems. Mr. Sun Xinhua, head of economic and commercial affairs of the Chinese Embassy, and officials from the Office of the Prime Minister of Dominica accompanied the visit.

Ambassador Chu received detailed briefings on project site selection, choice of building materials, and construction timelines. He also engaged warmly with local residents. Ambassador Chu noted that livelihood projects form an important part of China-Dominica practical cooperation and are highly valued by both sides. He expressed satisfaction with the smooth progress of the work and reiterated China’s readiness to deepen cooperation in this area to ensure that the development of China-Dominica relations continues to improve the lives of more people.

Local residents expressed heartfelt thanks for China’s generous support, wished for even stronger bilateral ties, and warmly invited their Chinese friends to return for a visit upon the project’s completion.
