On October 24, 2023, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to Daniel Noboa on his election as President of the Republic of Ecuador.

Xi Jinping pointed out that Ecuador is an important country in Latin America. Over the past 43 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Ecuador, the two countries have maintained close high-level exchanges,and deepened political mutual trust. Cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful outcomes, and traditional friendship has taken deep roots in the hearts of the people. Xi Jinping said that he attaches great importance to the development of China-Ecuador relations, and stands ready to work with President-elect Daniel Noboa to  add new dimensions to the China-Ecuador comprehensive strategic partnership and bring greater benefits to the two peoples.
