On August 4, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Grenada hosted a networking gathering for participants of the first-half 2026 China-aided short-term training programs. H.E. Yang Shu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada, Lyndonna Hillaire-Marshall, Permanent Secretary for the Department of Public Administration of Grenada, and Renrick Bedeau, Chairman of the Grenada-China Alumni Association, were present and delivered remarks. Around 35 representatives attended the event. 

Ambassador Yang updated the audience on China’s latest economic, technical and social development, as well as the progress of pragmatic cooperation between China and Grenada. He emphasized that human resources and capacity building stand as a core pillar of bilateral practical cooperation. Moving forward, the Embassy will continue to tailor targeted, industry-focused training programs to align with Grenada’s development priorities and emerging sector needs. He encouraged training participants to apply their newly acquired expertise to local work and serve as envoys of China-Grenada friendship. He also called on the Grenada-China Alumni Association to give full play to its bridging role, consolidate bilateral people-to-people bonds and inject new momentum into all-round bilateral cooperation.

Permanent Secretary Marshall extended heartfelt thanks to China for its long-term assistance and steadfast support for Grenada’s development. She expressed the willingness to further deepen bilateral human resources cooperation and expand pragmatic collaboration in more fields.

The gathering concluded in a warm and cordial atmosphere. Participants actively shared their rewarding training experiences and insights gained in China, exchanged work ideas for local industrial development, and conveyed sincere friendship and goodwill toward China.
