On 23 July 2026, the Chinese Embassy in The Bahamas successfully hosted the 2026 China–The Bahamas Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum. Her Excellency Yan Jiarong, Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas, and the Hon. Jerome Fitzgerald, Minister of Economic Affairs of The Bahamas, delivered keynote addresses. Nearly 100 participants attended the event, including Bahamian government officials, representatives of the business community, and members of the China General Chamber of Commerce in The Bahamas.

In her remarks, Ambassador Yan highlighted that China's economy has maintained steady growth with strong momentum driven by innovation, providing the world with greater stability, vitality and opportunities for cooperation. She encouraged the business communities of both countries to further unlock the potential for cooperation and make full use of “China Opportunity 2.0” especially China's high-quality products, vast market, technological innovation and green development, so as to elevate bilateral economic and trade relations to a new level.

Minister Fitzgerald emphasized the importance of strengthening the alignment of the two countries' development strategies and expanding practical cooperation in trade and investment.
The Forum also featured a lively panel and substantial discussion on topics such as enhancing the quality and efficiency of bilateral trade, reaching broad consensus on advancing China-Bahamas economic and trade cooperation. Panelists include: Mr. Barry Griffin, Chairman of the Bahamas Trade Commission; Mr. Don Williams, Chairman of the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers' Confederation (BCCEC); Dr. Donovan Moxey, President of the Bahamas China Friendship Association (BCFA); Ms. Dwina Higgs, CEO of Ying'N Yang Solutions; Mr. Ju Genguo, Head of China Construction America (Bahamas); and Mr. Peng Caizhu, Head of CRCC Caribbean (Bahamas).
