Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu Delivers a Speech on the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Ties between China and Peru via Video Link

On November 2, 2021, Vice Foreign  Minister Ma Zhaoxu delivered a speech at the reception held by the Embassy of  Peru in China to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of  diplomatic ties between China and Peru via video link.

Ma Zhaoxu said that over the past  50 years, China and Peru have always respected and treated each other frankly,  continued to deepen the traditional friendship and political mutual trust, and  kept improving the quality of and upgrading practical cooperation. The Global  Development Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping at the UN General  Assembly is highly consistent with the development demands of Latin American  countries, including Peru, and thus creates an important opportunity for  China-Latin America relations to make further concrete progress in the new era.  China is willing to strengthen the alignment of both countries' development  strategies, conduct Belt and Road cooperation with high quality, and  continuously add new dimensions into the comprehensive strategic partnership  between China and Peru.

Peruvian President Pedro Castillo  and Foreign Minister Oscar Maurtua respectively delivered a speech at the  reception via video link, congratulating the two countries on the 50th  anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and expressing their  willingness to continue to firmly develop the comprehensive strategic  partnership between the two countries and deepen the traditional friendship  between Peru and China.

Special Representative of the  Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Qiu Xiaoqi attended the reception  upon invitation, and he also attended the issuing ceremony of a commemorative  envelope to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic  relations between China and Peru.
