BARRANQUILLA, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Colombia will settle for nothing less than six points from their home World Cup qualifiers against Brazil and Ecuador over the next five days, manager Reinaldo Rueda said on Saturday.

The Cafeteros will meet five-time World Cup winners Brazil at Barranquilla's Estadio Metropolitano on Sunday before facing an in-form Ecuador outfit at the same venue next Thursday.

"There are six points at stake and we want those six points. That's what we are playing for," Rueda told reporters in a news conference.

Brazil lead the 10-team South American zone group with 27 points from nine matches while Colombia are fifth, 13 points further back.

Rueda said his players were motivated by the prospect of competing against a team of Brazil's quality.

"There is an intrinsic motivation for every player who faces Brazil," he said. "When you play against the best players, it's a plus. There is no need for me to tell them why they should be motivated to play this game. The desire that the players show is going to play an important role."

Colombia will be without Juventus winger Juan Cuadrado due to suspension and his absence could pave the way for the return of Shenzhen FC playmaker Juan Fernando Quintero to the starting lineup.

The 28-year-old former Porto and River Plate star impressed during a 15-minute cameo appearance off the bench in Colombia's 0-0 draw with Uruguay in Montevideo on Thursday.

"[Quintero] is an important option," Rueda said. "He did well when he came on against Uruguay and played very well against Chile [in a 3-1 win last month]. He is somebody who can bring something different because of his characteristics."

While Colombia will be without one of their biggest creative weapons in Cuadrado, Brazil will welcome back their key attacking threat Neymar, who returns from suspension.

Even so, Rueda said his players would not sit back against their illustrious rivals, vowing to bring a positive mindset to Sunday's clash.

"We know how good they are, but we are also going to go out there to win," he said. "We have to be intelligent, calm and play to our strategy. For that to happen, we'll need to have a high level of concentration and it's up to the players to execute that on the pitch."
