On March 4, 2021, External Security Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry Cheng Guoping met with Kyrgyz Ambassador to China Baktygulov Kanayo Dzhumadilovna. Both sides exchanged views on China-Kyrgyzstan relations and inter-departmental and inter-regional security cooperation between the two countries.
Cheng Guoping said that China-Kyrgyzstan relations enjoy a sound momentum of growth. Recently, President Xi Jinping spoke with President Sadyr Japarov on the phone and made strategic planning for the development of China-Kyrgyzstan relations and cooperation in various fields between the two countries. China is ready to work with Kyrgyzstan to strengthen the construction of inter-departmental and inter-regional mechanism, deepen cooperation in such fields as security and people's livelihood, jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and promote the development of the China-Kyrgyzstan comprehensive strategic partnership.
Baktygulov Kanayo Dzhumadilovna said that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to its relations with China and firmly supports China in cracking down on violent and terrorist forces of the East Turkestan Islamic Movement. Kyrgyzstan is ready to jointly leverage the inter-departmental and inter-regional mechanism with China, facilitate practical cooperation in security and other fields between the two countries, further promote the development of Kyrgyzstan-China relations and safeguard security and stability of the two countries and the whole region.
